Sandra Brown-Ford, M.S., Ph.D., is the laboratory manager at the Center for Toxicology and Human Health within UL Research Institutes’ Chemical Insights, where she assesses absorption models related to PFAS in first responders and consumer textiles. Her research uses techniques like Automated Dry Heat Diffusion to determine PFAS absorption levels and potential health impacts.

She holds a Ph.D. in Physiology from the Medical College of Wisconsin and an M.S. in Biomolecular Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Previously, Dr. Brown-Ford was a postdoctoral researcher focusing on innate immunity and genomics, managing in vitro studies of TLR4 and TLR2 pathways in response to Staphylococcus aureus infections. She also researched Estrogen Receptor Beta agonists at Concordia’s School of Pharmacy. Additionally, Brown-Ford is committed to mentorship and has served on the Board of Directors for Elmbrook Schools.
