Chad Deisenroth, Ph.D., is the principal laboratory toxicology research scientist in the Center for Chemical Informatics and Screening at UL Research Institutes’ Chemical Insights. His work focuses on the development and application of human-relevant, cell-based and biochemical methods to evaluate the potential health effects of environmental chemicals. He uses high-throughput screening platforms and advanced in vitro technologies to reduce reliance on animal testing and enhance decision-making for human health protection.
Prior to joining Chemical Insights, Chad held principal investigator roles across government, non-profit, and contract research organizations, where he advanced innovative approaches for chemical safety evaluation and human health assessment.
He earned his Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.S. in Microbiology from Montana State University. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and received the 2021 Best Published Paper Award from the Society of Toxicology’s Risk Assessment Specialty Section.
