Sandra Brown-Ford, Ph.D.

Senior Laboratory Manager, UL Research Institutes’ Chemical Insights

Sandra Brown-Ford, M.S., Ph.D., is the senior laboratory manager for the Center for Toxicology & Human Health within UL Research Institutes’ Chemical Insights, where she assesses absorption models in chemical exposure scenarios. Her research uses Automated Dry Heat Diffusion to assess real-life scenarios and behaviors that contribute to absorption risk and lead to potential health impacts.

She holds a Ph.D. in Physiology from the Medical College of Wisconsin and an M.S. in Biomolecular Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Previously, Sandra was a postdoctoral researcher focusing on innate immunity and transcriptomics, managing in vitro studies of inflammation pathways in sepsis treatment. She also researched highly specific Estrogen Receptor Beta targets as improved menopausal therapeutics at Concordia’s School of Pharmacy. Additionally, Sandra is committed to mentorship and has served on the Board of Directors for Elmbrook Schools.
