Amanda Jurgelewicz, Ph.D., is a laboratory cell profiling research scientist in the Center for Chemical Informatics & Screening within UL Research Institutes’ Chemical Insights. Her role supports the development of the phenotypic and transcriptomic profiling platform in the center. She plays a key role in assay development, executing high-throughput chemical screens to generate cell profiling data, and high-content data analysis and interpretation.
Prior to her current role, Amanda was a postdoctoral research fellow at the US EPA. She supported both data generation and analysis of high-throughput, screening-level chemical assessments using the Cell Painting assay and transcriptomics across biologically diverse human cell lines. She led a project aimed at incorporating in vitro metabolism capabilities into these assessments to enhance the ability to identify potential in vivo hazards by assessing how chemical biotransformation can impact bioactivity.
Amanda received her Ph.D. in Pharmacology & Toxicology with a dual major in Environmental Toxicology from Michigan State University and her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry & Chemical Biology from Wayne State University.
