Scientists and educators from Chemical Insights and ULRI’s Institute for Research Experiences & Education recently led a hands-on externship for Cobb County, Georgia, educators on the science behind vaping at the ULRI Immersive Classroom in the Cobb County Safety Village. Teachers virtually explored our labs, discussed common misconceptions about vaping, learned how our vaping studies work, and participated in a hands-on yeast investigation to explore vaping’s effects on cellular health. This month, we are proud to feature TRANSCAER(Transportation Community Awareness Emergency Response). TRANSCAER is an outreach program dedicated to strengthening preparedness for and response to hazardous materials transportation incidents through training, drills and exercises, and community engagement. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with TRANSCAER in advancing safety through science-based information and resources, including online courses, publications, and other educational materials.
