Presenter:

David Kalafut is a field research scientist at UL Research Institutes’ Chemical Insights, where he focuses on collecting and identifying chemical and elemental hazards and particulate matter in air, soil, and water. His work supports the evaluation of potential human health effects and the development of strategies to reduce community exposure to environmental hazards.

Nicole Sanders is a research amplification lead with the Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI), part of UL Research Institutes. She is responsible for FSRI’s public safety education campaigns.

Vinay Premnath is the director of research for energy storage safety at the Electrochemical Safety Research Institute, which is part of UL Research Institutes. He studies thermal runaway, gaseous and particulate emissions, failure risks, and mitigation strategies for lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries.

The Campus Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA) is to support and educate campus-based environmental health and safety professionals so they can improve the profession in campus environments.
