Andy Shapiro is a senior software engineer at UL Research Institutes’ Chemical Insights, collaborating with health scientists and informaticians to build complex scientific software, reproducible pipelines, and data visualizations.
With extensive experience in scientific software engineering and data science, Andy previously worked as a senior software engineer. In this role, he developed a content management system designed to support human health and environmental risk assessments as well as a software suite that provides access to mathematical models that can help estimate the quantitative relationship between a chemical dose and a response.
He holds a Master’s and a Bachelor’s in Public Health, specializing in Environmental Sciences and Engineering, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, along with a Certificate in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. Andy is dedicated to advancing scientific research and chemical safety assessment.
