Chad Deisenroth, Ph.D., is a principal laboratory toxicology research scientist at UL Research Institutes’ Chemical Insights. He develops cell-based and biochemical assays to assess the human health effects of environmental chemicals, using high-throughput screening and advanced technologies to reduce animal testing and enhance decision-making for human health protection.
Before joining Chemical Insights, Chad worked as a cell biologist, managing research teams and fostering collaborations in toxicology. He also served as a principal investigator at a non-profit research institute focused on advancing chemical and drug safety, as well as at a research organization specializing in computational toxicology and risk assessment.
Chad earned his Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Montana State University. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications and received the 2021 Best Published Paper Award from the Society of Toxicology’s Risk Assessment Specialty Section.
