Joseph (Joe) Hess, Ph.D., is a data scientist at UL Research Institutes’ Chemical Insights, where he develops exposure and risk assessment models to support clinical studies.
He earned his Ph.D. in computational biophysical chemistry from Clemson University and holds a B.S. in chemistry from Rutgers University. Before his academic career, Joe served in the U.S. Army as a chemical operations specialist. His multidisciplinary training in exposure science and applied data science has equipped him with expertise enabling him to develop and apply robust computational models for biological, chemical, and toxicological research.
