Data Scientist, UL Research Institutes’ Chemical Insights

Joe Hess is a data scientist at the Center for Toxicology and Human Health within UL Research Institutes’ Chemical Insights, where he develops exposure and risk assessment models to support clinical studies. He earned his Ph.D. in computational biophysical chemistry from Clemson University and holds a B.S. in chemistry from Rutgers University. Before his academic career, Joe served in the U.S. Army as a chemical operations specialist. His background and studies have equipped him with expertise in programming, machine learning, and statistical methods for his research.
