Maureen Meister, Ph.D.

Research Scientist, UL Research Institutes' Chemical Insights

Maureen Meister, Ph.D., is a research scientist at UL Research Institutes’ Chemical Insights. Her research focuses on exploring the respiratory health implications of various consumer products and occupational exposures. She participates in human subjects’ studies investigating the impact of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) exposure on oral and respiratory health.

Maureen has extensive wet lab experience and expertise in coordinating clinical trials. Maureen is also a Registered Dietitian with experience in research and clinical dietetics. Her unique background enhances Chemical Insights’ research on human health, examining factors such as diet, sex, and ethnicity that influence susceptibility to environmental and occupational toxic exposures.

She received her doctorate in chemistry from Georgia State University, where she studied the effects of chronic ENDS exposure on vascular endothelial function. This study was supported by funding in the form of a USDA-NIFA predoctoral fellowship.
